We’re excited to be supporting the Hugs Foundation as our charity of the year 2020.
Our partnership will help raise more awareness about Hugs so they can reach more people who need mental health and well-being support in Cornwall. Together we’ll promote sustainability, well-being, and human and animal welfare across the County.
Laura Dennis, fundraiser at Hugs said: “CWS has already made a huge impact. Our new signs will help us provide valuable information for our visitors. Plus we’ve been introduced to helpful new contacts to help us improve our Charity, such as enhancing our health and safety training.”
The Hugs Foundation is a registered Charity (1175633) based in Bodmin and relies solely on funding and donations from both individuals and organisations to carry out its mission; to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome horses and ponies, to provide mental well-being interventions both at the farm for children and young people and offsite, for the elderly that can no longer interact with animals and nature (e.g. care home visits). Hugs also visit schools, colleges and businesses to provide educational talks on both animal welfare and human well-being.
Laura said: “CWS will help Hugs to carry out its mission to improve animal welfare and enable people to make positive changes to improve their mental well-being. With support from businesses like CWS, we can continue to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome unwanted, abandoned and abused horses and ponies. It also means we can provide supportive interventions for children, young people and the elderly, who are either suffering from; mental ill health, social isolation, deprivation, disadvantages, and disabilities.”
We’re very happy to be supporting the Hugs Foundation throughout 2020 as they continue to bring positive change to people and animals across Cornwall.
